End of Suffering – When disaster Strikes

Today we live in a world filled with disaster. Some are natural, for example, earthquakes, extreme weather and pandemic. Some are personal, the death of a loved one or failing personal health and still others due to the world we live in.

Whatever the cause they can leave us in denial, with feelings of hopelessness and the belief that life is no longer worth living. They cause dispair.

The Bible

God’s inspired word shows us that however, we feel there is always good grounds for hope. Look at the words of Jeremiah 29: 11 “‘For I well know the thoughts that I am thinking toward you,’ declares Jehovah, ‘thoughts of peace, and not of calamity, to give you a future and a hope.12 And you will call me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.’

A future, peace and hope are assured through God’s Kingdom – we have all prayed for it in the Lords Prayer “Let your Kingdom come!” – these are the promises

Isaiah 65: 19 “And I will rejoice in Jerusalem and exult in my people; No more will there be heard in her the sound of weeping or a cry of distress.”

Psalm 37: 11 But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. and verse 29 The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it.

Revelation 11: 18 …and the appointed time came for the dead to be judged and to reward your slaves the prophets and the holy ones and those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.

Revelation 21: 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”5 And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also he says: “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”

Isaiah 65: 17 For look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be called to mind, Nor will they come up into the heart.
