The Resurrection

Can you believe it happened?

Christian Churches often promote the death of Jesus and then question the truth of the resurrection. Is this a reasonable idea? Can you both believe in Jesus as the son of God, recognise the sacrifice and then question the resurrection?

Apparently so. Yet, this is not what the Apostle Paul expressed in 1 Corinthians 15: 12 “Now if it is being preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how is it that some among you say there is no resurrection of the dead?13 If, indeed, there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised up.14 But if Christ has not been raised up, our preaching is certainly in vain, and your faith is also in vain.”

If we believe that the soul is immortal there is no need for the resurrection and certainly no need for Christ to act as our ransom. Paul continues the reasoning with these words in verse 16 “For if the dead are not to be raised up, neither has Christ been raised up.17 Further, if Christ has not been raised up, your faith is useless; you remain in your sins.18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in death in union with Christ have perished.19 If in this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are to be pitied more than anyone.

Christians without a cause and reason to remain faithful. This simple denial emboldens those who subvert the Christian teachings to water down the bible’s message. For example, we only have to accept Jesus as our saviour. The New Testament repeatedly warns us against this complacent attitude. Because we are working for our own salvation through our dedication and the evidence of this. To understand how we perform works that demonstrate our faith we need to study the Bible.

Personal Experience

As a young person, I was pressured by peers and teachers to look hard at the reasons for my faith. They explained my parents were using religion and its rules to control my life and that I was missing out. Also, flattery played a part, being told you are intelligent and completing the challenging problems set, solving complex situations quickly led them to say I was wasting my life.

So I began to question what I had been taught to believe. Read extensively, the ancient history of the period the Bible was written, studied Archaeology, Natural History and theology.

Take a walk through the creation and ask not just How? ask WHY?

Then I began to look at the record of modern science, the people who wrote and thought about how we arrived on the planet, our evolution and the development of society.

I began to realise there was something missing – the “why?” factor. Having reviewed the probability factors of events over billions of years we come back to the same question, if you allow for random chance, why did the cells of the body develop the way they have? How did they realise that the environment would change (sometimes rapidly) why were they able to make the transition? and why isn’t there a clear record of all the intermediate life forms that failed?

Then it came down to why do we require a moral code or set of rules? The evidence presented demonstrated a stark contrast, the Bible led moral code versus our modern approach. If I chose to follow the Bible code what damage will that do me? Set the contrast and ask the same question about none bible standards.

I came to the conclusion that God exists, we can see the works of Gods hands everywhere if we choose to perceive note the words of the Apostle Paul again to the Romans 1: 18 For God’s wrath is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who are suppressing the truth in an unrighteous way,19 because what may be known about God is clearly evident among them, for God made it clear to them.20 For his invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable.21 For although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God nor did they thank him, but they became empty-headed in their reasonings and their senseless hearts became darkened.22 Although claiming they were wise, they became foolish23 and turned the glory of the incorruptible God into something like the image of corruptible man and birds and four-footed creatures and reptiles.

The result of this dichotomy is expressed in Romans 1: 24 Therefore, God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, so that their bodies might be dishonored among them.25 They exchanged the truth of God for the lie and venerated and rendered sacred service to the creation rather than the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen.26 That is why God gave them over to disgraceful sexual passion, for their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature;27 likewise also the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full penalty, which was due for their error. read on in verses 28 -32 many Christians who reject the resurrection and fail to put faith in Jesus as the redeemer of humanity tolerate they approve of acts that the Bible identifies as unacceptable to God.

So to accept the resurrection of Christ requires an understanding that there are answers to the big questions, however, it is up to us to decide just how we respond. Salvation is through Jesus Christ the Son of God, he died for a reason and each of us needs to understand that for ourselves.

Those who accept the bible standards and God’s right to tell us what to do can show where the evidence is but like myself you have to prove it for yourself. So starting with the resurrection of Jesus you can begin to build a real picture of what the meaning of life is and why we can be certain that all of humankind has hope for the future, including those living today.

End of Suffering – Getting to Know God

To benefit from the wonderful promises the Bible makes about our future, an end to all suffering, life on a paradise earth and real peace Jesus explains in John 17: 3 “This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” remain the crucial steps we must take.

But how do we get to know God?

The Bibles reveals two ways:

  • By looking at and studying the natural world – Creation
  • Reading and meditating on the things written in the Bible

Creation reveals the power, energy, design and control that surrounds us for all living things and the Universe itself. From the smallest molecule to the vast Universe we observe conforming design, arrangement and purpose. The design of the wings of birds or the honeycomb structures of bees all reveals that although complex the same principles apply.

The Bible reveals and unfolds the purpose of creation, why God created people and then his purpose for their home, planet earth. The Bible explains how our lives have purpose and what it takes to be lead a happy life now, linking this to a strong foundation for the life to come.

What do we do first?

Develop a friendship with God, acknowledge that there are many things that science and philosophy can’t rationalise, fail to explain and ridicule. Ask yourself what don’t I know and what do I want to know?

To build a friendship names are important. The Bible repeatedly reveals the name God chose because it had purpose, meaning and formed a description of his personality. Psalm 83: 18 “May people know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth”.

You may struggle to find that in the translation you use but the original Hebrew Text contains and uses Jehovah more than 6500 times. The meaning of the name “he causes to become”.

Find out more about Jehovah, get to know the God of the Bible and not the propaganda of those who hide the truth. Once you know who he is then build a relationship with Jehovah.

Will Man Ruin The Earth?

Wherever we live on the planet the subject of “climate change” is increasingly in the news. Governments speak of it, everyday individuals protest about the devastating changes happening to the planet.

Many have reached the conclusion it is too late for the adjustment needed.

The question really is can humankinds governments, however sincere in their desire stop the impact of climate on the planet and human society?

The Bible Comments

The Bible gives us the wonderful reassurance that humankind will not be allowed to ruin the earth. Note the words at Isaiah 45: 18 For this is what Jehovah says, The Creator of the heavens, the true God, The One who formed the earth, its Maker who firmly established it, Who did not create it simply for nothing, but formed it to be inhabited: “I am Jehovah, and there is no one else.

Notice the words at Ecclesiastes 1: 4 “A generation is going, and a generation is coming, But the earth remains forever“, and Psalm 78: 69 He made his sanctuary as enduring as the heavens, Like the earth that he has established forever.

The Bible reveals how God created the earth with the exact details on the conditions vital to animal and human life. It also reveals he loves his creation.

What God has planned!

Read the words at Revelation 11: 18 But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time came for the dead to be judged and to reward your slaves the prophets and the holy ones and those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.” Humankind is running out of time, the planet is running out of time and the bible reveals that we are living in the “Last Days”. Action is imminent.

Psalm 2 and Daniel 2 explains that Governments and national groups are not going to listen and they will stand against this action but like an ant on a track they have no power to stop the train – God’s Kingdom restore:

  • Peace
  • environmental balance
  • health
  • social justice
  • honest government
  • hope

These are just a few of the things promised, humanity and the planet will be restored by the creator and we need to know more about how we can enjoy that future. – Enjoy Life Forever.

Protest won’t change the world – God’s Kingdom has.

The Biblical “Great Reset”

The World Economic Forum has discussed since the 1930’s the need for an Economic Reset, Extinction Rebellion demand an Environmental Reset and so many political ideologies look to a Social Reset.

The idea that the reset will prevent everyone is punished for the errors of the past often sparks the the flames of revolution.

Conspiracy theorists look at the events happening around the globe and promote the idea that humanity is approaching a reset point. They are absolutely correct!

The Bible Sets out the present

In describing the period before the point of reset the bible discusses what life is going to be like note the words of Paul to Timothy – 2 Timothy 3: 1-5 “But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here.2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal,3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness,4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God,5 having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.” A very simple description of a world without god.

For those with a faith and who are prepared to share it what reception do they receive? 2 Peter 3: 3 “First of all know this, that in the last days ridiculers will come with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires4 and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing exactly as they were from creation’s beginning.”

But how is this the total reset conspiracy theorists are talking about?

The last days must end and something new must be introduced. James 5: 1-3 “Come, now, you rich men, weep and wail over the miseries that are coming upon you.2 Your riches have rotted, and your clothing has become moth-eaten.3 Your gold and silver have rusted away, and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh. What you have stored up will be like a fire in the last days.” Silver and Gold are of no value or use. The currency that does work is faith.

Who brings the Revolution?

Revelation 6: 1-17 paints a vivid picture of an invisible conquest, that humans see the impact of and initially ignore the consequence of opposing the new king on his ride to his appointed throne.

As the King takes his throne there is war in heaven and the victor banishes his enemies to the earth, where these enemies gather the political, religious and commercial elements of humanity to face off with the Anointed King.

We are living through that period of damaging ignorance, the so called enlightened guides of today are leading society off the edge of a cliff. “SJW Thought Police” talk of hate speech when other express their personal views on morality, or the need to follow the standards of the bible. Why? Because the Bible is clear in why certain practices are unacceptable.

History has taught us many things but the idea that “history repeats itself” teaches us that Humans don’t listen and don’t learn.

Action today

The building has started to burn, the temperature has risen but it isn’t an immediate threat to life – so we’ll stay where we are. Does that sound like a sane person or response?

When you find a fire in a property what is the first thing you do? Get everyone out, immediately! The alarm rings until the building is made safe, it stops anyone re-entering.

So someone has shouted fire – the universal reset to God’s standards is imminent, how long do you leave it until you check out the alarm call.

From personal experience, having been in a building fire the alarm sounded and the senior person with us said it’s just a drill, but the alarm continued, so we got up to go and the person said no need to panic it’s just a drill. They went out to the landing and asked the person across the hallway if it was a drill, she didn’t know but if the senior thought it was we should ignore it.

Within two minutes large clouds of smoke engulfed the landing and it was almost too late. Why? Because we followed the poor instincts and supposed authority of others.

The moral of this if you hear the alarm check it out for yourself immediately. It will prevent unnecessary suffering and potentially death.

Jesus said the his disciples should “Preach the Good News of the Kingdom” and make more disciples because this is the way to save lives before the end comes.

What the Reset looks like – Enjoy Life Forever

Act now and don’t follow others.

The Creation of Humans

Humanity always portrays itself as the pinnacle of intelligent life on earth. We don’t see the intelligence of other kinds of animal life as competition. Even if these are more effective hunters.

It is almost as if the animals stopped evolving – if you accept the concept of random development and the survival of the fittest.

We take it as read that no other life form will challenge humans for management of the earth. Why when their existence is threatened by the actions of Humanity aren’t the powerful species tackling the issues of climate change, poor land management and ignorance?

Simply explained, they can’t!

If power and strength were all it takes then animals would have taken over long ago.

Does it matter what you believe?

The Creation Account

The Bible’s creation account establishes that Humans have a duty of care toward the planet and life on it, note the words at Genesis 1 : 27 and 28 “And God went on to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.28 Further, God blessed them, and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many, fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving on the earth.”

A large responsibility for the final creation, to look after the planet and the life on it. Evidence has shown the earth has the capacity to self renew through the cycles of the natural world. The air is scrubbed and cleaned, water is distributed across the globe and life can exist in the high places and depths of the sea.

Only as Humanity has wandered farther away from its role has the imbalance threatened the existence of life on this planet.

Humans rejected the role and wanted more, the right to determine everything even the things they did not understand. Human experience demonstrates just how poor we are at governing the impact of our so call progress.

This rejection of role led to an adjustment and made the continuance of life a struggle, again note the words of Genesis in chapter 9: 1through 3 “God went on to bless Noah and his sons and to say to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth.2 A fear of you and a terror of you will continue upon every living creature of the earth and upon every flying creature of the heavens, upon everything that moves on the ground and upon all the fish of the sea. They are now given into your hand.3 Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for you. Just as I gave you the green vegetation, I give them all to you.”

So we became the great threat, to our existence and all of the life on this planet. Not content with the damage we have caused here science is looking at colonising space. How ridiculous, damage one planet and then think we can create a habitation that sustains life indefinitely.

Creation has real hope

Doom and gloom, “we’re all going to die in a ball of fire – that’s what the bible says”. This is the response of those who have had look but not focused on the hope and the conditions of salvation.

I’m intrigued by people who need to be rescued who want things done on their terms. I write from experience, in a situation where several lives were involved a couple of people wanted the rescuers to listen to them. They failed to understand that in a tunnel with one end blocked and only one way out you have to follow the skilled direction.

Humanity believes it has the right to determine how it will be saved. Here’s some news, those who don’t follow the escape plan will be left. The rescuers know once everything collapses there isn’t anytime to offer an alternate route and those who didn’t accept the help have made the choice to die.

Stark the choice is ours. Note the words at Revelation 11: 18 “But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time came for the dead to be judged and to reward your slaves the prophets and the holy ones and those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.”

Humanity will wage war with the rescuers and oppose the only means of salvation. Why are the rescuers intervening? Because humans are ruining the earth. The final creation (so everything else was here before us) the custodians of the planet are destroying and the creator has to take steps to protect the planet and the rest of creation.

COVID19 has shown how quickly the planet adjusts, however, the global temperature rises have consequences that will take time to resolve. It is as if the planet has become hostile towards humans because we are destroying it. A little like the “Forbidden Planet”.

So what next? Heed the counsel at Proverbs 22: 3 “The shrewd one sees the danger and conceals himself, But the inexperienced keep right on going and suffer the consequences.”

And Proverbs 13: 16 “The shrewd person acts with knowledge, But the fool exposes his own foolishness.

We know the dangers we face, we have an escape route, it isn’t easy but it has an experienced rescue worker to lead those who want to escape so it is time to plan now before the final tipping point.

We can enjoy life as the Creator planned if we accept the offer of rescue, if we’re determined to fight the rescuers then we have to accept the consequences.

“Hallowed be Thy Name”

Christian daily rote prayer, yet do they know what the statement means? For example “Hallowed” the meaning Jesus put on this was straightforward – “be made holy; consecrated”.

Holiness is a concept in religion that has been blurred, bible commentators refer to holiness as clean, pure, undefiled therefore, the idea that we prayer to God that his name is spoken without reproach, and with deep reverence is lost.

Where does God’s Name Appear? Bible scholars accept that it appears more than 6000 times but in the Authorize Version it has been reduced to 4

  • Exo_6:3  And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
  • Psa_83:18  That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
  • Isa_12:2  Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
  • Isa_26:4  Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

Jesus focused on the God he knew, he understood, when in the temple he called it his father’s house so Jesus referenced the name Jehovah!

The Meaning

How corrupted this has become, with the religious scholars of the today and Christian History removing the name, replacing it with loose references to a God, or supplanting Jesus, the trinity or nature for the creator.

Jehovah, Yahweh, YHWH, and the many other languages all convey the same primary meaning for the name, “he causes to become” and “I will prove to be what I will prove to be”.

Understanding the name leads us to look at what Jehovah purposes. Here is a short list:

  • The end of earthly political structures;
  • The end of sin and death;
  • Restoration of paradise;
  • Justice for all;
  • Removal of the wicked;
  • Restoration of perfection;

Too much to ask? Christian leaders point to governments, international institutions and crazy links between international bodies.

Why don’t they point to God’s Kingdom as the only solution? Because they fail to show reverence to Jehovah God. They lack the faith that God’s Kingdom will achieve these things.

Sadly sucked in by the “educated, intellectual and secular thinkers” who have learned to question everything and answer nothing with anything more concrete than “I think” or “look at history”. individuals have rejected the bible, failed to read it and more cynically focused on self.

Working with the “there is no God premise”

The idea that it is modern to think there is no God is false, 2500 years ago the bible states clearly that “the foolish one has said in his heart there is no God!” The Greeks lived by a range of philosophical constructs which promoted pleasure because there is no hope. “Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we shall die”.

Life is easier when there is no hope and you haven’t much of an idea of what you are doing. Blundering from one misjudgement to another, but without accountability.

So when we pray “Hallowed be Thy Name” it requires that we understand 2 things:

  • Gods Name
  • Gods Purpose

Then the choice is ours – say the prayer with all the mean and then find out how that name is sanctified because it has a direct impact on our long term hope and the way we live our life today.

Jesus words at John 17: 3 “And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, even Jesus Christ.” indicate we start with God’s name and begin our journey to life eternal.

Is it possible to Enjoy Life Forever? The new bible study course uses clear reasoning to ensure we engage with creator and have a clear understanding of how his name is clean, pure, holy and what we can do to contribute to this.

The “label” Christian is a badge worn by billions but those real Christians number in the millions that explains why we need to get this right before God’s Kingdom takes direct action.

Understanding the mean of life

Are you searching for the meaning of life?

Is there any reason for human existence?

Can we really influence society for the better?

These are some of the big questions we all get to ask in our youth and rarely find a satisfactory answer from philosophy, religion or society. We didn’t ask to be born. SO some say our only purpose is to keep the species going. To ensure that humans are the dominant predator.

And yet… is that really enough? can the brain really have evolved to use a fraction of the capability and capacity? were the eyes solely for hunting? taste simply so we can tell what might be poison? or the DNA and RNA link so fabulously just because some random pattern of chance occurrences manipulated amino acids into complex arrangements?

The more questions we ask the less satisfactory the answer become unless we explore the alternative Genesis 1: 1, possibly the most ridiculed verse in the bible – In the beginning GOD created…

The science leaves a great deal to be desired.

We’ll consider more of this in the coming days.

“We are not…”

Starting post with a negative statement may seem odd but the verse goes on to say: Hebrews 10:39 “But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” and a more modern translation “And we are not for flinching that comes to destruction, but for faith that comes to soul-preservation.”

Because Hebrews 11: 3 “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

We are compelled to ask ourselves “What do I understand?” The Apostle Paul was discussing the demonstration of faith in the first century and by extension now we should understand the same things and be able to read the signs.

Nature

Romans 1: 20 “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” We should be able to look at nature around us a see the creators hand in them.

The complex simplicity of the natural world never ceases to amaze me for example the humble bumble bee; Elephants and ants. We could look at the stars and planets, the universe that we understand so little of. Science and education tell us only fools believe in creation because scientists “know” look at what science does know and ask how accurate are they about everything else in life.

Can we trust people who really don’t have a track record open to in depth scrutiny. Often people we wouldn’t want to trust with our precious things, who say what they need and ensure their funding. Or that sad group who blame life for the ailments they live with and say if there is a God he wouldn’t let someone as clever as me suffer this way or my family.

Science has an agenda – to exclude the creator because a life without moral guidance means that the boundaries of human decency can be pushed hard. Human life has no value and humanity looks to science for a future that it can’t predict or provide.

Beauty of Truth

The simple fact about God the creator is that he isn’t demanding that you follow him, you have free will, he gave that to the first humans and we exercise that right.

However, we do have to accept the consequences of our choices:

  • Reject God and his plan – we aren’t part of his future
  • Reject God and his rulership – he owes us nothing because he paid the price for our salvation and we are throwing in his face.
  • Select human reasoning over God’s – the consequences are we die

If you decide there is no God, who suffers? Why does God require his worshippers to preach about his kingdom in the hands of his appointed King Jesus? Why are so many atheists upset with those who have faith?

We were created with eternity in our hearts

Ecclesiastes 3: 11 “He hath made everything beautiful in its time: also he hath set eternity in their heart, yet so that man cannot find out the work that God hath done from the beginning even to the end.”

So what day have you chosen to die on? Would you want to die if everything were perfect, your health, your body and your mind? How about a planet with out war and crime?

The things that make us sigh and groan today about modern life create a real sense of hopelessness, but remove them who would voluntarily end their life?

It isn’t fantasy and it isn’t some place in heaven. Your research into the hope all humans share and the choice they face determines whether you are counted amongst those who shrink back or those who have the relationship with the creator that sustains their lives.

Extend your search with a bible study aid that looks at Creation and another Life from a scientific perspective the information will challenge your current perceptions. It did make me research what I had accepted as truth as soon as I read it.
