“Faint out of Fear”

What a phrase but apt for today as we look at the current events the account of the “last days” or “end of Times” yes the end of the world seems to loom ever closer.

The context of the bible statement is interesting because it isn’t negative, Jesus words at Luke 21: 25 “Also, there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth anguish of nations not knowing the way out because of the roaring of the sea and its agitation.26 People will become faint out of fear and expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.27 And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.28 But as these things start to occur, stand up straight and lift up your heads, because your deliverance is getting near.”

Let’s unpick the verses. The context of Luke chapter 21 is when we can expect to see the rulership of the world change, from human governments backed by Satanic influence to Jesus Christ coming in power as the ruler of “God’s Kingdom”.

God’s Kingdom

Universal peace was threatened in one little planet due to the influence of a powerful force who wanted, not freedom but worship! That is what Satan offered Adam and Eve they would be like God were his words if they followed him. So jump from the rulership you know to the smooth words of a ruler who hasn’t shown himself to you. Almost saying “Trust Me I’m a…”

The choice is “are you going to be supported and follow the directions of the creator or follow another pathway?”

The outcome is when Luke 21 has its fulfilment. Nations will war with one another, ordinary people will rise up against what appear to be democratic governments and individuals will agitate about a range of matters.

Rulers have no way out – there are no answers to be found in conflict, health improvements fail because of the commercial interests and government leaders don’t know what the consequences of their actions are going to leave. Their legacy could be worse than those who took the world to war.

The impact is verse 26, “People will become faint out of fear and expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Israel and so many other situations scare people. They turn to the leaders who don’t have the answers. They can’t fight a war because there isn’t any high moral ground, sanctions can be overcome. Ordinary lives are affected by matters they haven’t any control over. Every reason to be frightened.

Think of the fingers above the nuclear buttons – would you really want any of those individuals making life and death decisions about your family, friends and community?

Real Hope

Verses 27 and 28 explain when we see this state of affairs it is the time of action, it is a time for hope and we need to be ready to follow the warrior King Jesus Christ and he begins to restore that Universal Peace that was lost.

Jesus told the Jewish leaders they could read the weather but they couldn’t see the signs of the Kingdom, why? because they weren’t in expectation of it, they were not keeping “on the watch”.

So what is the lesson from these short verses:

  1. Fear is part of the sign
  2. Conflict is part of the sign

When we see them across the world then we know our deliverance is at hand.

Did you get the sense of it?

Not everyone claiming to support the Kingdom of God knows what it is. Few understand that rather than being restrictive following Christ’s leadership establishes freedom, moving away from the so-called wisdom of the world, science that tinkers with things it can not comprehend.

Plainly then hope depends on accurate information, personal research proving things to yourself and understanding where you choose to place your faith.

God’s Kingdom is a reality today, we don’t have to wait to see the benefits but we do have to make a stand. The reverse of becoming “faint out of fear” we raise ourselves up and we see our deliverance is getting near”

To begin or progress your journey one of the things, to begin with, is opening the bible and reviewing the content, studying it, applying it and then choosing which side you want to be on.

Not everyone wants God’s Kingdom, however, if you prayed for it to come it is worth finding out what that government promises to bring for all of human and animal life. Save lives by supporting God’s Kingdom led by Jesus Christ and enjoy life.
