The Bible gives us a wonderful hope for the future, that soon God’s Kingdom will end all suffering.
However, its practical wisdom helps us today too by giving us sound guidance on how to cope with very stressful times.
Jesus said in Matthew 6: 34 “So never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Each day has enough of its own troubles.”
Although, todays problems are a part of life, don’t increase stress levels by adding future problems to them. Cope with one day at a time.
The bible also recommends that we set priorities Philippians 1: 10 that you may make sure of the more important things, so that you may be flawless and not stumbling others up to the day of Christ;
Making sure of the more important things, so we can reduce stress by focusing on more important jobs, keeping a track on how we spend time, schedule in some downtime.
Along with taking care of your health 1 Timothy 4: 8 “For physical training is beneficial for a little, but godly devotion is beneficial for all things, as it holds promise of the life now and the life that is to come.” and getting support from others Proverbs 12: 25 “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good word cheers it up.” the bible emphasises in a time of stress we need to look after our spiritual needs 1 Peter 5: 6, 7 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time,7 while you throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.“
Prayer to Jehovah can result in inner peace please read Philippians 4: 6, 7 “Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God;7 and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.”
