Is the World Coming to an End?

We are living in a time when many disasters happen, affecting communities, locally and internationally. Major environmental disasters are causing flooding, drought, famine, and Disease. Pandemic conditions affecting every continent. We are seeing wars, political conflicts on a major scale in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

Many fear the threat of nuclear war, and the global consequences of such a cataclysmic conclusion to current events.

It is a commonly held belief that the Bible teaches that the world will end in a ball of fire, in the Apocalypse or Armageddon. Does the Bible really teach this? Is this what we are looking forward to?

The Bible Says:

The Bible states the opposite, note the reference at Ecclesiastes 1: 4 “A generation is going, and a generation is coming, But the earth remains forever.”

Now move forward to Revelation 11: 18 “But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time came for the dead to be judged and to reward your slaves the prophets and the holy ones and those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.””

These are not isolated references, the bible is clear the earth remains but something happens to change human future prospects.

What will End?

Jesus spoke with clarity about a period called the “last days”. We would identify them by signs, you’re probably familiar with them, war, famine, pestilence from the words recorded at Matthew 24 or Luke 21.

The Apostle Paul also spoke of these “last days” – “Critical times” at 2 Timothy 3: 1-5 “But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here.2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal,3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness,4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God,5 having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power; and from these turn away”

Review the local and international news media, look at what is happening to friends and possibly in your own life do some or all of these things affect you? For many who study the Bible the increase of evidence has set the alarm ringing. Yes we are in the “Last Days”.

So what happens next? Invisible to the eye but based on the evidence listed in the bible we can see God’s Kingdom has been established in heaven. It began by cleaning out the heavens of the wicked spirit forces and gathering those rightly disposed for salvation.

As the kingdom Accomplishes its goals it promises to remove the wicked Psalm 37: 28 – 29 “For Jehovah loves justice, And he will not abandon his loyal ones. They will always be guarded; But the descendants of the wicked will be done away with. 29 The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it.”
