We know that the whole world needs better rulers, despite their best efforts, Governments fail to meet the needs of all. We pray that their best efforts help the majority of people but!!!
The whole world faces insurmountable problems:
- Natural disasters
As previously noted this is not what God first purposed. So to put matters right he has selected his King who is to rule the world. Note Psalm 2: 6; God is installing his king.
God has set up a Kingdom, or government, that will replace all human rule, and “it alone will stand forever.” Daniel 2:44
Quoting from a noted bible commentary: “Jesus never became a ruler on earth. Rather, he is to rule mankind from heaven as King of God’s Kingdom. What makes him an ideal Ruler? Consider what Jesus did while on earth.”
What do we learn from him as our King?
- Jesus cares for people
- Jesus teaches us how to please God – the provider of his Kingdom
- Jesus Teaches us how to demonstrate real love
Learning to love those whom it is difficult to love for any reason is the beginning the of our acknowledgement that his rulership benefits all people.
Getting to know Jehovah through Jesus demonstrates that this government isn’t to be feared but to be prayed for as we have done for almost 2000 years. Matthew 6: 9, 10.
Jesus is perfectly qualified to be an effective world Ruler who is helpful and kind. But when does he begin to rule? He is ruling now!
However, we have been given time to take personal action to show we are advocates of God’s Kingdom in Jesus worthy hands.
John 17: 3 “This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.”
We must learn the truth about God, understand his relationship with his son and then as Psalm 2 instructs us acknowledge Jesus as Gods anointed King.
