The Media creates a real climate of fear throughout the world with the reporting on the Pandemic.
The clear stark warning to Christians is don’t get sucked into the propaganda. Looking to governments and politicians to sort these things out.
Man can’t control the weather, natural world nor can he harness the resources of the planet to work to the collective advantage. People looking to people for answers is exactly as Jesus said it would be. Yes Matthew 15: 14 resonates – 14 “Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” oh and how many ditches they can find. Stumbling from one crisis to another.
They laugh at those having real faith, who see beyond the lies and double speak of all forms of leadership today. I echo the sentiments of the wise man who wrote in Ecclesiastes 8: 9 “All of this I have seen, and I applied my heart to every work that has been done under the sun, during the time that man has dominated man to his harm.”
The global threats know no borders, resources will run under borders, problems have become cyclical, humanity isn’t improving at sustaining life its getting better at prolonging a pointless existence.
Where do you look for leadership? Values and moral direction? Why not start with the Bible? With the word of God.
Lets take one principle – the bible teaches us to value life more than anything because without we are nothing. So when there is a simple approach to resolving a problem why opt for a complicated multi tiered system of restrictions? Life before commercial interests nothing more principled.
We have prayed for God’s Kingdom since Jesus demonstrated the “Our Father” – it is time to find out just what that kingdom is and what it has to offer. When people go to the polling stations in November in the USA they are voting for a short term solution. When we vote with our lifestyle choice to advocate God’s Kingdom we vote for Life! Everlasting Life!
Do not let fear and disturbing times rob us of the promise of true peace, freedom and security.
